Descriptive study to identify the barriers of physical activity among adolescents in selected school of Kashmir with a view to develop a lifestyle modification programme

Adolescence is a grey area in the spectrum of life falling between childhood and adulthood. It an age transition when individual experiences rapid growth development, both physical psychological changes from being child to adult. School going period also increased vulnerability obesity, lack activity outdoor sports along with consumption fat-rich ‘junk’ foods, major cause obesity among affluent population. Some dietary patterns appear quite common adolescents, mention few: snacking, usually on energy-dense meal skipping, particularly breakfast, or irregular meals, wide use fast food low fruits vegetables. Based problem selected objectives study, descriptive research design was identify barriers adolescents school Kashmir view develop lifestyle modification programme. Sixty subjects were by non-probability sampling technique for this study. Self-structured checklist used data collection analysed inferential statistics using chi-square t-test. The findings revealed that no significant association found these variables i.e. type family. i.e., educational status source information at (p<0.05).
